HYPERTHERMIA FOR CANCER PATIENTS

The conducted clinical studies have shown that the method of hyperthermia is most effectively applied in oncological diseases of the following organs:

  • mammary glands and ovaries;
  • stomach, liver and large intestine;
  • lungs;
  • thyroid gland;
  • prostate gland;
  • musculoskeletal system.

The method is also effective in therapy:

  • skin tumors;
  • cancerous blood pathologies;
  • various metastatic tumors.

For patients with oncological diseases, the method can be used as:

  1. Antirelapse therapy after complete removal of the neoplasm.
  2. Cytoreductive surgery (CRS) – transfers a malignant neoplasm from one state to another, reducing the likelihood of recurrence — this is not applicable for all tumors.
  3. Immunostimulation procedures before chemotherapy and radiation therapy.
  4. Preparation of the body for treatment, including to increase the susceptibility of tumor cells to therapy.

The most important action of hyperthermia in the fight against tumor processes is antirelapse. The method is able not only to destroy metastases, but also to prevent their spread in the future. This is very important when a radical removal of the tumor has been performed and doctors are fighting with metastases. The uniqueness of this method in the fight against metastatic cells comes to the fore.

A strong cytoreductive effect on malignant formation occurs as follows: against the background of high temperature, the protein structures of tumor cells disintegrate, and as a result, the tumor significantly decreases.

The main result of such treatment is a pronounced stimulation of immunity, since it is the most important link in the fight against malignant neoplasm cells. The increase in the number of cancer cells occurs when the immune forces of the human body are running out and there is a very important issue of restoring immunity. Also an important effect is to increase the sensitivity of tumor cells to chemotherapy to reduce the dose of chemotherapy drugs and increase its effectiveness.

It is worth remembering that hyperthermia is not an alternative to surgical treatment. The main method of combating malignant tumors is timely and correctly performed surgical treatment. Hyperthermia is mainly a postoperative treatment method that can increase the positive effect of traditional cancer treatments many times over, as well as reduce undesirable side effects.
